It was absolutely lovely to have Andrea back on the pod for another conversation! As a long-time coach and teacher, she has a fantastic perspective on how coaching has evolved over the past few decades. In today's episode, we start out by discussing how the technology of coaching has changed, especially in the context of cameras. This leads us into the importance of not over-relying on tools like video in your coaching relationships - seeing more doesn't always mean seeing better or more clearly. We go on to explore how Andrea once played something of a "Success Detective" for herself - tracing her network of clients and referrals back through the years and discovering that FIVE people we're primarily responsible for her entire coaching practice...and how what those five people had in common guided her attention and efforts in her business going forward. We eventually close by reflecting on how coaching becomes more and more a part of your identity as you go along, and how we both tend to prefer "coach-like" people in our personal and professional lives. Andrea opened her coaching business, SageCoach, in 1997. She has logged over 10,000 coaching hours, working with executives, leaders, and entrepreneurs. She also teaches for CTI. More importantly, she has a well-balanced life, lives in the high desert, and loves to hike. She has visited all 63 of the US National Parks and remains an adventurer.
