The Inside Joke

Andrew Graystone

Listen Later

Thank you for listening to another episode of The Inside Joke--
This week, we took a step away from what we would consider our "typical" episodes, which are often filled with joking around and goofy conversations.
Instead, we were joined by Andrew Graystone from Manchester, United Kingdom.
On Friday, March 15th, two Mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand were the targets of mass shootings during Friday Prayers.  50 people fell victim to this senseless act of violence and terror, and the hearts of the entire world were heavy for the people of New Zealand.
Andrew Graystone took it upon himself to go to his local Mosque and stand outside holding a sign that read "You are my friends.  I will keep watch while you pray." and provided a sense of comfort to all those entering the building.  His actions have inspired people across the world to lend a hand in light of this tragedy, and we had the pleasure of hearing Andrew's story firsthand.
We want to share that story with you.  We hope you enjoy this, and if you did, please Tweet using the hashtag #FriendshipNotFear

If you would like to make a monetary contribution to support the victims of the mass shootings, the New Zealand Council of Victim Support Groups is crowdfunding to provide support and resources to all those affected, as well as the family members of the deceased.
