Earlier today Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael talked about just how historic Atlanta Hawks Center Clint Capela’s performance was in the 123-115 overtime win against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.

In the win Capela had 27 points, a career-high 26 rebounds and 5 blocks becoming the first player to put up at least 25 points, 25 rebounds and 5 blocks since Shaquille O'Neal did so in 2004. The only other players to put up that stat line in the past 35 seasons are Dikembe Mutombo, Patrick Ewing and Hakeem Olajuwon. Capela also had the game-tying layup in the final seconds of regulation to send the game into overtime.  

“One thing that we were looking at in the offseason is how it’s going to work with John Collins and Clint Capela on the court at the same time because John Collins had kind of done what Clint Capela does in his first couple of years here. And it took a little bit and Clint Capela was out for the first couple of games of the season but it’s been really fun to see them work together and obviously defend together and rebound together. They had 37 combined rebounds between the two of them last night. That’s outrageous” said Andy.

“There were the glass cleaners man. They were like the man that would scare the hell out of us when we used to be in the Kia studios. They were the glass cleaners last night,” Randy added
