PERSPECTIVES: Artist Talks with Lavender Studios

Angela Brown

Listen Later

Angela Brown from Creative Wares and Things stopped by the studio to give us a clinic on water marbling. She took us through the Japanese Suminagashi method as well as a new gel plate option and traditional paint transfer techniques. It was really fun and we got to create our very own take-home art piece! We definitely want to bring her out again and see if we can get more people involved. Let us know if you are interested in learning more about it!

From the artist: Creative Wares was founded by Angela and Matt, blending two family businesses—MomsandMes and ARB Creative Designs—into one creative home. What started as a 4-H project has grown into a place where art, craft, and teaching come together.

Angela is the creative force behind Creative Wares. An award-winning jewelry artist and printmaker, she specializes in monotype printmaking and marbling techniques, including traditional Western marbling and Japanese Suminagashi. From paper and fabric to glass, wood, metal, and leather, every piece she creates is truly one-of-a-kind.

At Creative Wares, I don’t just make—I also teach and inspire. Whether you’re looking for unique handcrafted art or the chance to explore your own creativity, this is a place to discover your creative voice.
