Episode 161 (22 Oct 2021): Angela van der Berg (https://www.linkedin.com/in/angela-van-der-berg-62b7b391/) is the Acting Director of the newly established Global Environmental Law Centre at the University of the Western Cape's Faculty of Law in South Africa. She is also a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Law and Jurisprudence where she runs and teaches in the LLM (masters) in Environmental Law. Angela's interdisciplinary scholarship focuses on future-orientated environmental law and governance research aimed at advancing sustainability under conditions of unprecedented environmental change. Much of this research is geared towards developing reflexive and responsive legal frameworks and governance structures fit for addressing complex social, economic and environmental challenges resulting from Anthropogenic climate change.
