For the last three years, Philipp has been running all things Europe at AngleList. AngelList is the tech community’s favourite platform where companies can raise money, investors can find startups and people can find jobs at startups around the world.  

I met Philipp five years ago when he was Principal at Seedcamp - Europe’s best known seed investment fund.

This time we meet in Berlin where I was attending Tech Open Air - a great technology conference taking place very year in Europe’s new favourite destination. 

We talk about work and life in Berlin (in comparison to London), designing a healthy lifestyle and our community's shared responsibility when it comes to reducing the cases of harassment in tech.

Travis and I are sitting on the floor of one of the oldest libraries we’ve been in, drinking coffee and chatting about what it’s like to live your dream life. 

Travel and adventure have always been a huge part of Travis’ life. He lived the Caribbean, worked as a kayak guide in Alaska, worked at world’s largest dragon fruit farm in Hawaii and ended up joining Remote Year. Remote year is a company allowing you to travel the wold for a year spending each month in a different city while working and living with 70 other professionals.

Travis joined the company when it only had seven employees (now they are more than 150). He was flown to Ko Pha-Ngan for an interview, then to Japan for his training and is been having the best job in the world for the last two years.  Travis is Remote Year's Manager of Community Development - he takes care of community dynamics and makes sure people have the best possible experience.
