Gabriel Hastings followed in his grandfatherâs footsteps. He was a captain in the US army and itâs all he ever wanted to do until he falls in love. When things donât work out the way Gabe had hoped, he turns to whiskey and random women to ease the pain and swears he will never love again. He moves to Las Vegas with his best friend, Paul.

Autumn Jones. On the outside it would seem she has the perfect life. A husband and babies on the way, but Autumn knows Richard has a dark side. Heâs controlling and moulds Autumn into being the wife he wants. He was once sweet, romantic and caring; nevertheless, something changed and now she lives with someone abusive and manipulating. He watches her every move and wonât let her do anything without his say so first. Autumn is a strong woman but she wants out of the life she finds herself living. When Richard allows her to meet her friend for coffee, Autumn first sets eyes on Gabe. The spark between them is instant and she canât seem to forget about him. They bump into each other often and Autumn looks forward to her meetings with Gabe, both feeling the pull they have toward each other. He however senses all is not right with her and when he learns the hell sheâs living, he vows to help her escape her husband and protect her. Can Gabe and Autumn help each other escape the prisons their lives have become? Will Richard let her go or will his grip on her become even tighterâ can Gabe save the woman heâs fallen in love with?

Iâm a huge Kimberly Knight fan. I love all her books and this one doesnât disappoint. Itâs fantastic! Even though itâs a standalone, I can definitely see the potential for further books with other characters. I read this in one sitting as I just couldnât stop till Iâd finished!! Itâs beautifully written, passionate and sexy with some red hot sex scenes. This is a story of love, loss, anger and betrayal, and also finding the strength to leave a life thatâs slowly killing you and starting again. Thereâs a few laughs along the way as well! I loved and connected with both characters. Autumnâs strong and determined and I loved how she was hell bent on escaping her hellish life.
