Lili is smart, beautiful and full of passion for educating conscious travellers on the benefits sustainable, organic permaculture. Her teachings are from practical, experiences of what is works in the real world and not just theory.
She so-founded Barn N Bunk which is not not your typical holiday accommodation. It’s for travellers who really want to learn about sustainable living. They teach the dynamic process that enables you to realise your potential, and to improve their quality of life, in ways which simultaneously protect and enhance the Earth’s life support systems.
Staying at Barn N Bunk means you are supporting the local green program. Barn N Bunk is in collaboration with the government of Gianyar to encourage the local farmers not to sell their land-field but to have an agricultural tourism site where they use the unique System of Rice Intensification (SRI) which is a methodology that increases the yield of rice produced in farming. It is a low water, labor-intensive, organic method that uses younger seedlings singly spaced and typically hand weeded with special tools. Proponents of SRI claim its use increases yield, saves water, reduces production costs, and increases income and that benefits have been achieved in 40 countries since 1983.
Barn N Bunk is a complete green tourism centre that comes with eco-friendly accommodation and organic farming education. The project set within an area of sixty hectares of outstanding organic paddy rice field, panoramic view of mount Agung and Nusa Penida peninsula. The eco- bungalow built on top of a tropical fish pond and surrounded by organic rice field increases the function of the land and the income of the farmers.
They provide a beautiful alternative to the concrete jungle that is strangling the land. By educating and increasing wellbeing of local farming communities they are preserving Balinese culture, tradition and nature itself. Barn N Bunk make framing cool again, They support the younger generation to adopt farming and encouraging them to maintain their ancestor’s heritage, in a modern society where agriculture has become a less esteemed profession. Barn N Bunk close the ‘generation gap’ restoring balance between people, nature and god.
