To All the YA I've Loved Before

Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging

Listen Later

Have you ever reread a book and discovered that’s what you based your entire personality around? Kaycee and Ashley’s teenage years (and beyond) were totally shaped by Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging, the 1999 British YA novel by Louise Rennison. They spend much of the episode connecting their experiences of youth with the awkward, hilarious Georgia Nicholson and pondering how the character taught them how to let their weirdo flags fly. Other topics of discussion include the beauty of lists, spending half their teens walking around with soaking wet flared jeans, and coming to grips with their own mortality after talking about the trends that have re-emerged from their teen years. Plus, a good pet digression inspired by the titular Angus, Georgia’s huge cat.
