A panel with Algonquin-Anishnabe youth speaking on their perspectives of Indigenous governance. Originally recorded August 24, 2022.
In this panel discussion, Algonquin-Anishnabe guest speakers: Emilio Wawatie, Ryder Coté, Leona Commanda and Savanna McGregor discuss the various aspects intertwined within Indigenous governance, and their experiences engaging and navigating within this paradigm. Similar values and principles resonate with nations across Turtle Island ranging from: ceremony, culture, citizenship, the environment, sustainability, education and language.
Anishnabe constitutional values are directly linked to observations and education learned from nature and its seasonal changes. This conversation will focus on the Algonquin-Anishnabe youth perspectives of navigating these values within a modern context.
Presented by the Indigenous Stream of the Youth Network Chair.
