DMV Spotlight on September 7th, 2025 shines a light on the Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival at Sandy Point State Park featuring a full line up of music but also raises money to help protect the Chesapeake Bay and supports VA Way, that provides mental health resources for Military Veterans and the public. Baygrass founder and CEO, Ron Peremel says tens of thousands of dollars have been raised in the several years since the start of the Baygrass Festival as well as sustainability practices including reclaiming oyster shells from seafood serviced at the festival to use as oyster beds back into the Chesapeake Bay.

Peremel say the festival partners with: The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, Oyster Recovery Partnership and Watershed Stewards Academy with a portion of each ticket sale used to support the charities.
