In the third part of our interview, Dr. Anne Bradley explores the various facets of capitalism and socialism in-depth and explains why socialist economic theory is making a “comeback” in the United States. By using real data and examples, she shows us how these two economic theories impact the flourishing of different societies and why socialism ultimately fails those who try it.
Other topics we cover: Does wealth creation require certain self-limiting principles? Is “hockey stick” economic growth possible without Christianity? What is the “three-legged stool” of a flourishing society? Do the Christian values of equality and freedom conflict? Listen to find out more!
Dr. Anne Bradley is the Director of Academic Affairs at the Fund for American Studies based in Washington, D.C. She is the co-editor and author of “Counting the Cost: Christian Perspective on Capitalism,” “For the Least of These: a Biblical Answer to Poverty,” and “Be Fruitful and Multiply: Why Economics is Necessary for Making God-Pleasing Decisions.” Bradley earned her Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University and has since taught economic principles and theory at multiple universities.
