03.03.2016 - By Pole Parlour
On this episode, we have Annemarie Davies, aka the Queen of Sexy. As we learned in Part 1, Annemarie is an OG poler who originally discovered pole dance in 2002 and who is still an influential and undeniable force in the community today. We discussed her experience witnessing the birth and growth of pole over the past 14 years, the history of contemporary pole dance, what makes someone sexy, and what inspired her to start United Pole Artists. In part 2 we chat more about changing the public perception of pole dance, her experience as a teacher, and educating people about pole dance through her upcoming documentary, Fistful of Steel.
We left with Annmarie acknowledging the uphill battle when it comes to getting positive exposure for pole dance, but enthusiastically confirming that we are winning.
