Slaughter served as director of Policy Planning at the State Department under Hillary Clinton, and President and CEO of the think tank, New America. Her new book is called The Chessboard and the Web: Strategies of Connection in a Dangerous World, which examines how our increasing interconnectedness effects the delicate balance of international relations.
