The 14th till the 21st of Match is marked as Anti-Racism week. This year is very significant as it not only marks 10 years of the campaign, but also 70 years of the Freedom Charter and the 60th anniversary of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. South Africa is a signatory to it, binding itself to taking concrete measures to illuminate all forms of racial discrimination. Sadly though is that our country continues to experience incidents of racism and prejudice which make headlines, get authorities to act, and then all goes back to normal until another one makes headlines again.
