Our luck hasn't been the best this year. We've had not one, not two, but three fires at our properties. Two of them were at the same building, within a few months of each other. 

Luckily, this latest fire was very small and quickly contained, and the damage only added up to a little over $1000. But the same can't be said for the earlier fire. That building was condemned and is currently going through the rehab phase. 

It's easy to think that this can never happen to you, but it will. So here are the 3 steps you need to take when there's a fire at your investment property. 

1) Take Care of the Resident.
2) Call Your Insurance.
3) Find a Mediator.
