Another classic psychological horror - Weapons 2025

Listen Later

Zach Cregger's Barbarian was an intriguing horror debut, but it ultimately fell short for me, never quite achieving the level of madness I had anticipated. In contrast, Cregger's next film, Weapons, is much more fulfilling, featuring a remarkable Magnolia-style narrative that unfolds from multiple perspectives before descending into complete chaos in the final act. Cregger skillfully intertwines elements of intrigue, suspense, dark humor, and horror to narrate the tale of a small town where seventeen school children from the same class mysteriously vanish into the night, leaving their heartbroken parents to suspect the children's teacher, Justine Gandy (Julia Garner), of wrongdoing.
