One of my absolute all-time favorite podcast guests is the legendary muskie fisherman, Pete Maina.  I could talk fishing with Pete for hours, but what really gets us going are topics that have nothing to do with wetting a line.  In today's episode, we cover all the important issues involving fishing for muskies in the fall, but we also touch upon more controversial subjects, like corruption in politics.  It's really just the standard fare when Pete and I do a podcast, but it's good conversation between good friends that I think you'll find entertaining.

I'm super pumped about this episode because you get to hear from an angler who ditched forward facing sonar, but still managed to rise to the top of competitive bass fishing.  Dustin Smith placed second in Rookie of the Year and fifth in Angler of the Year on the Tackle Warehouse Invitational circuit in 2025 without ever staring at a screen shaking a jighead minnow.  In fact, Dustin doesn't own a unit with live sonar.  Hell, even his trolling motor ain't the latest and greatest.  You see, Dustin's super power has nothing to do with technology, but everything to do with his unbridled passion for catching bass in shallow water.
