The heart of man is desperately wicked. However, none of these thoughts or motives is hidden from the Lord. A battered heart is a stony heart, which is unresponsive to God. The light of God has been shut out of it. It is sweet to be called a sheep but not a goat, which stubbornly makes the same errors and mistakes.
