Winchester, VA – Saturday evening festivities turned to tragedy in London when three Muslims used a vehicle to mow down pedestrians on the London Bridge, they then proceeded to the Burough Market, exited their van, and started indiscriminately stabbing passers-by while shouting, “This is for Allah!” The perpetrators were shot dead at the scene. The Telegraph reports that the death toll stands at 7, with 48 others wounded. Prime Minister Teresa May delivered a statement on Sunday, saying, “This is, as we all know, the third terrorist attack Britain has experienced in the last three months. We cannot, and must not, pretend that things can continue  as they are.”. London Mayor Sadiq Khan said, “I’m quite clear that we will never let them win nor will we allow them to cower our city or Londoners.” Pope Francis offered his prayers for the victims and their families at Mass in St. Peter’s Square. AP reports that authorities have arrested 12 individuals in East London in connection with the attack, but the terrorism threat level will remain at “severe.”
