Pride is the fruit of Satan just as love is the fruit of the Spirit. If God is love, Satan is pride. Pride is a spirit sent by Satan just as the Holy Spirit was sent by the Father through Jesus. A person who is filled with pride receives the same judgment that Satan receives.
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted (Luke 14:11)."
Our spiritual struggle on earth is not against anything we see with our physical eyes. Keep in mind that there are two different kingdoms in another world: a kingdom ruled by Satan and his angels, and another kingdom ruled by Christ and his angels. We all used to belong to Satan’s kingdom and were dominated by his spirit, but now we are brought into the kingdom of the Son. First, it is important to know that Satan was already cast down and judged by God through Jesus. Second, keep in mind that you are not alone to fight against Satan’s dominion and kingdom. Read the following scripture:
And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him (Rev 12:7-9).
When you fight, make sure that you use the name of Jesus. All good angels and evil spirits are very sensitive to the authority that has been given to Jesus. They all know very well what the name of Jesus means, the kind of authority and power invested in that name, more than any believer on earth. So, the name Jesus works.
The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you (Luke 10:17-19).
We fight the good fight of faith in the name of Jesus because victory is already ours.
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death (Rev 12:10-11).
In Psalms, we have the following verse:
"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name (Ps 91:14, NIV).
The Hebrew word for to “protect” in this verse is sagab in pi'el“to lift up”, and it is rather unfortunate that this verb is usually translated traditionally in the meaning of “to be safe” (“to protect” in pi’el) as seen in the following verse:
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe(niph’al of sagab) (Pro 18:10, NIV).
The verb translated here as “are safe” literally means “are made high,” or “are lifted up.” Many fortified cities in Mesopotamia had towers, which were used as the last refuge of escape and protection from enemies. Sennacherib king of Assyria at the time of Hezekiah king of Judah attacked Palestine in 701 B.C. (see 2 Kgs 18), and boasts in his annals that he killed the officials of the city of Ekron and hanged them in the towers there. Satan was cast down, but those who know the name of Jesus are lifted up as Jesus was made high to receive all authority in heaven and on earth. And the Holy Spirit we have received is the proof of this.
Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear (Acts 2:33).
