Answering the LDS Claim of an Apostasy to Validate the Book of Mormon and the LDS Church
If you have ever spoken with a couple LDS missionaries and the conversation gets to talking about the credibility of the Book of Mormon (BoM), chances are you have heard something along this line: "The gospel of Jesus Christ disappeared from the earth after the death of the Apostles and the ascension of Jesus because there was an apostasy by the early Christians. That is why the Book of Mormon is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ." Wait a minute! An apostasy by the early church? The gospel disappearing from the earth?
In this podcast I answer these two challenges. Mormonism and Islam are the only two religions, in religious history, that were brought about by angelic proclamation. Was it really an angel from God or the "angel of light"? The Apostle Paul warned the Churches at Galatia (1:8-9), and he warns us today that, "even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, even now I say again: if anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!"
