All this week we’ve been looking at reasons why we should be thankful God didn’t use evolution to create. How does the gospel tie into this?
Well, if God used evolution we’d be descended from an ape-like ancestor. We wouldn’t all be related through a literal Adam. And yet Jesus came as the Last Adam, a descendent of Adam himself, to redeem Adam’s descendants from sin and death. It’s only because we’re descendants of Adam, and share in his sin, that we’re able to be saved by the Last Adam.
The gospel is true because there’s a literal First and Last Adam. And we should all be forever thankful for that.
