When our soul calls us to face our shadow, it is usually to answer the longing of the soul to live in truth. We may want to move through our spiritual awakening quickly so that we may access the treasures that lay beneath the shadow. I took antidepressants for 17 years and then... they just stopped helping. At first, I thought my suffering from medication changes, withdrawal and worry and that the flood of emotions that ensued was a hinderance to my spiritual journey, only to realize after many years of healing and learning that it was the catalyst for opening me up to the deeper healing my soul needed.
Your soul will meet you where you are and if you're are on antidepressants or addicted to drugs, your soul will meet you in that space and guide you on your path to healing.
*And although my journey led me to come off of antidepressants, that may not be the path that your soul is guiding you on.
Thank you for showing up. Many blessings.
