Danmark er kendt internationalt for at være en velfærdsstat, som i dets tilblivelse byggede på ideen om solidaritet og kompensation, og hvor moralsk dannelse og demokratiet var noget alle borgere var fælles om. Trods ideen om velfærd for alle viser forskning i dag, at ikke alle individer bosat i Danmark oplever at kunne tage del i den danske velfærd på lige fod. I denne podcastserie, som er baseret på et seminar arrangeret af The University of Copenhagen Platform for Migration and Refugee Research, kaster vi et særligt blik på etniske minoriteters møder med det danske sundhedsvæsen.

Som opvarmning til dette års Årsmøde 2023 har vi åbnet for den varme linje - en antropologisk hotline, hvor vi snakker om nogle af de dilemmaer, de faglige fortvivlelser og forandringer, som vi allesammen møder i vores antropologiske livscyklus.
Panelet bestående af Inger Sjørslev, Lars Richard Rasmussen og Iben Fog Saxe tager i denne episode udgangspunkt i vores spørgsmål om, hvordan man vælger bane i både studie og arbejdsliv - og om man kan fortryde igen, og vælge noget helt andet? Panelet foreslår, at vi tænker i arbejdsliv frem for karriere, og at vi bliver bedre til at følge strømmen rundt mellem de muligheder, der byder sig.

Kan man snakke om et antropologisk vægelsind, spørger vi? Nej, siger panelet. Man kan faktisk bruge sit eget politiske ståsted som et udgangspunkt for sit virke - det kræver dog, at man kan sætte sig selv i parentes og udfordre egne overbevisninger ved at lytte professionelt til andres syn på verden.
