Anxiety can only occur when you are outside of the present moment. The anxious thoughts use the exact mechanism as your awareness, though awareness is present and anxiety lives in the future. Whenever we are overthinking, worrying or fearing what might happen, we can bring ourselves back to the present moment and be aware of what is happening around us instead of what might happen in the future.
