An emergency UFR delegation has been summoned to prevent a planetary
catastrophe. The colony world Vandris IX is on the brink of civil war.
Two rival governments each claim legitimate authority. Their automated
orbital and surface defence systems are already armed. If no agreement
is reached today, mutually assured destruction protocols will activate.
This will result in the loss of millions of lives. Both sides insist
that peace is possible, and a settlement must be negotiated. If they
fail, Vandris IX burns.
And of course, anything could happen...
