At the same time, Ocasio-Cortez placed blame for the broader unrest on President Donald Trump, accusing him of creating the conditions that led to the current tensions. According to her, policies and rhetoric from his administration have intensified division and discontent, contributing to the atmosphere now unfolding in California.
