In this Healthed lecture, cardiologist, Dr Jordan Fulcher will explain, about 150,000 Australians currently have moderate to severe aortic stenosis, and as many as half remain undiagnosed. And although the symptoms and signs can be subtle, it is imperative these patients be identified, diagnosed and referred for surgical intervention because, if left untreated, their prognosis is as dire as it would be if they had metastatic bowel or lung cancer. Dr Fulcher will also give practical advice to help overcome the challenges involved in detecting, diagnosing and managing patients with this valvular disease.
