1. A new Blockchain Art exhibit opened on May 20 and ends on June 25 in London at Furtherfield Gallery - called "New World Order." The Furtherfield website says: "Imagine a world in which responsibility for many aspects of life (reproduction, decision-making, organisation, nurture, stewardship) are mechanised and automated. Transferred, once and for all, from natural and social systems into a secure, networked, digital ledger of transactions and computer-executed contracts. The artworks in this exhibition envision future world-making by machines, markets and natural processes, free from interference by states and other human institutions."

2. There is an exhibit at a co-working space called La Compagnie in Paris, France where the artists have agreed to only accept ether (ranging from 10 - 50 ether) as payment for their work. According to the organizer, Christopher Pouilly, this is the first time that there has been an exhibit where ether is the currency. Loosely translated, he says, "Ether is making its real world appearance in the form of acquiring works of art." The exhibit continues through June 9.

5. On May 30, 2017, the Supreme Court decided the Impression Products, Inc. v. Lexmark International, Inc. case regarding whether companies or customers are infringing on patent protected cartridges when these same cartridges are refilled without permission. This is an important decision because it limits a patent holder's right to sue someone for patent infringement if someone re-uses a purchased cartridge. The case examines the concept of "patent exhaustion" which is similar to the copyright first sale doctrine where the rights owner gives up certain rights in relation to a particular item that a consumer has purchased.
