Episode 023: Mary Schaeffer on AP Fraud Prevention Week

Fraudsters have become really devious. The speed at which they develop new frauds is quite troubling. What’s more, many of the newer frauds can be stopped if people simply know what to look for. It was this simple fact that got the AP Now podcast’s host, Mary Schaeffer thinking.

As the organization began to plan for its annual celebration of AP Appreciation Week in the second week of October, a theme emerged. During that week we typically give away one resource each day and have a relevant free webinar on Thursday. This is our way of thanking our community for their support throughout the year.

Once we decided on How to Recognize New Frauds in AP as the topic for the talk, the rest fell into place fairly easily. We decided to make each resource related to fraud and expand our reach to invite everyone impacted by fraud.  In this podcast, we also discuss how to register to participate in these sessions and what each day’s resource will be. In an attempt to be humorous, each days session’s title is based on that of a TV show.
