In this episode Mary Schaeffer, AP Now founder and podcast host, shares details about five different games that vendors play that often result in their customers paying invoices more than once. While less than one-third of all companies allowed employees to work remotely one or two days a week, if they wished in the past, today 84% of all organizations now have most or all of their employees working from home. This, despite the fact that 18 months ago, almost all who did not permit remote working thought they would not change that policy.

She begins by discussing the types of vendors who either purposefully or by accident induce their customers to pay invoices twice. They do this through various game playing techniques. She also discussed strategies being recommended by consultants to improve cash flow. These improvements to cash flow come as a result of the duplicate payment. The strategies recommended while not illegal are certainly not honorable.

She closes the podcast by discussing several best practice strategies that will help every organization guard against this type of game playing. With all the extra work facing many companies, these strategies are the last thing they need.
