Chief Michael Biasotti is an advocate for improving our mental health systems. In this second of a two-part production, he talks about New York State’s program for court-ordered treatment of persons with serious mental illness (Kendra’s Law). Biasotti describes Crisis Intervention Teams, a collaboration of mental health professionals who deploy in the field with first-responder law enforcement officers to assist persons suffering from mental health issues. This video is part of the Legacy Project of the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police.
