Today my guest is Angie Toone. Wife of a Marine Corps combat veteran who served from 2000-2005 and who suffers from severe PTSD. He was in Iraq in 2003 and involved in the initial invasion of Baghdad, she is his caregiver. This is her STORY. "I'm the Utah Dole Fellow with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, representing and advocating for military caregivers in the state of Utah. I'm also the Platoon Leader for the Utah Battlin' Betties Platoon and I sit on the national Battlin' Betties board, so when I'm not caring for my husband, I'm spending my time volunteering with and advocating for military members, veterans and their families. Our members are not just volunteers. We have created a lifelong bond with each other; we are friends and sisters. We are able to call upon each other when we are in need of help in our personal life, as a caregiver or even as individuals, enduring the struggles of PTSD or suicide, obstacles of being a caregiver and also be the biggest supporter a friend would need. We can depend that someone will be there to listen." https://battlinbetties.org/================================== Apodcast.com - Listen, Learn and Share.
