SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT AUGUST EDITION 2026

- It's a meeting of broad rivers.

Isa.33.21: "But there the majestic LORD will be for us A place of broad rivers..."

- It's a meeting of miracles:

Gal.3.5: "Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?"

HOW FAITH WORKS

The term New Frontier seemed to have been popularized when it was used by Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kennedy, in his acceptance speech in the 1960 United States presidential election to the Democratic National Convention at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as the Democratic slogan to inspire America to support him.

This phrase can be used to express the idea of exploring new possibilities or discovering something new. This is the idea behind God's word to the people of Israel in our main text today. Succinctly put: 'There's more'!

A new frontier refers to a fresh area of exploitative development. It could be in the area of finance, career, business, nationhood, or even spiritually. When God said to his servant to conquer Sihon and his land in our main text, he was simply saying to him, "I have given you a new frontier." However, notice he said to him, 'begin to contend with him in battle.'

In other words, a new frontier will not come without a fight. But suffice it to say that this kind of fight is a fight of faith. Why is it so? Because Jesus has fought the fight for us already. The contention for us is to exercise ourselves (fight) in that which he has already accomplished for us.

You see, there are the Sihons, Amalekites, Philistines, etc, who are there to ensure you don't occupy your God-given space. They wouldn't let you have what is rightly yours; but it is time to dislodge them.

How do we dislodge the enemy so as to take on new frontiers? First, by praise. I recall several years ago that I got my first car after a 'dangerous' praise session in church. I praised my way to break through. Psalm 67.5-6 says, - "Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee, then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us". The army of Jehoshaphat took on a new frontier when they praised God in the face of a battle. They defeated their enemies.

As you praise Him today, I see God grant you access to new frontiers that you could never have imagined. Amen!
