Paul had heard there was division starting in the church.

They were some that were quarreling about baptism and who baptized them.

Some were going back to the teaching of the world's wisdom as their standard.

Paul was reinforcing the teaching of God's wisdom above all. No man can boast before God, because righteousness, sanctification and redemption comes from God.

Finally, faith would not rest upon nothing but the power of God.

The natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him.
