Apple has initiated a multi-day product rollout starting March 2, 2026, transitioning away from a traditional single-day keynote to a three-day series of press releases and video announcements. This rollout focuses on a variety of updates across the iPhone, iPad, and Mac lineups, with the official availability for many of these devices slated for March 11.
The iPhone 17e
The primary announcement of the event is the iPhone 17e, the most affordable member of the iPhone 17 family, starting at $599. It features significant internal upgrades, most notably the A19 chip, which utilizes advanced 3-nanometer technology to provide a faster 6-core CPU and a 4-core GPU with Neural Accelerators. A major addition to this budget-friendly model is MagSafe support, which was missing from the previous entry-level model, allowing for magnetic wireless charging and compatibility with a wide ecosystem of magnetic accessories.
The device also doubles its starting storage capacity to 256GB at the same price point as its predecessor. It retains a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display but introduces Ceramic Shield 2, offering three times better scratch resistance and reduced glare. Users can choose between three matte finishes: black, white, and a new soft pink.
iPad Air with M4
Alongside the new iPhone, the iPad Air has been refreshed with the M4 chip. Available in 11-inch (599)and13−inch(799) models, the updated tablet offers up to 50 percent more unified system memory than the previous version and supports Wi-Fi 7. The M4 processor enables faster workflows and console-level gaming performance.
Hardware Performance and Connectivity
The A19 chip family represents a significant leap in mobile processing. Benchmarks for the A19 Pro show an 11% to 12% increase in CPU performance over the previous generation, even outperforming some flagship desktop processors in single-thread tasks. The GPU performance has seen an even more substantial jump of 37%, delivering graphics capabilities comparable to some integrated PC GPUs. Furthermore, the inclusion of the C1X cellular modem in the new devices provides 5G speeds up to twice as fast as the previous generation while consuming 30% less energy.
Software and Intelligence
These new devices run on iOS 26, which introduces a "Liquid Glass" design intended to make the interface more expressive and personalized. A core component of the new software is Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI features including:
Live Translation: Communicating across languages in Messages, FaceTime, and via AirPods.
Visual Intelligence: Searching and taking action based on content viewed on the screen.
Clean Up: An advanced AI tool for editing photos.
Call Screening: Automatically screening unknown numbers to determine the reason for the call.
Anticipated Announcements
The remainder of the three-day launch is expected to include the reveal of a low-cost MacBook, potentially priced between $599 and $749. This device is rumored to use an A18 Pro chip and a 12.9-inch display, targeting switchers from Chromebooks and budget Windows laptops. Other anticipated announcements include refreshes for the MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, a MacBook Air with the M5 chip, and potentially an updated Mac Studio and Studio Display.
