Acts 13:26-52 (Part 3): The climax of Paul's first sermon and the doctrine of election in plain view.Paul proclaims the gospel clearly: Jesus' perfect life, death, burial, and resurrection FOR us and IN our place. He warns the Jews not to fall into the error of Esau, thrusting aside their birthright. The whole city gathers. Some rejoice. Some revile.Then comes verse 48: "As many as were appointed to eternal life believed."

Not "as many as believed were appointed." The ORDER matters. God's sovereign election in plain view.Picture a great doorway. Facing it, the sign says: "WHOSOEVER BELIEVES." On the other side: "APPOINTED TO ETERNAL LIFE." Jesus promises: "Whoever comes to Me, I will NEVER cast out" (John 6:37).There will never be anyone who wanted Jesus and was rejected. And there will never be anyone whose name gets left behind.
