Tisha b'av will be here shortly and Rabbi wants it to be more than just feeling bad about things that happened hundreds of years ago. Sure, we mourn our losses from long ago, but this is also a time to make a connection, and make our tears count towards something today, something that helps us make a more meaningful connection with our growth and learning.
