Today’s podcast started off with a lot of talk about one of the games greats and a pair of players who are certainly trending in that direction. Alex Ovechkin is slowly starting to find his goal scoring groove. Can he still hit 30-goals this season? Frank and Jason debated that and talked about his chase to become the leagues all-time leader in goals.

From there, they talked about Connor McDavid’s latest accomplishment, hitting the 900 point mark. McDavid hit the milestone in the fifth least amount of games played in league history. This led to some talk about Wayne Gretzky and adjusting for eras.

They then got to Auston Matthews, who is fresh off scoring his 30th goal of the season in just his 35th game of the season. Most people never thought we’d see a player score 50 goals in 50 games again, but is there a legitimate chance that Matthews can do it? It might be a stretch, but the guys talked about his incredible pace.

From there, Frank explained why the New York Rangers deserve to be the Stanley Cup favourites right now. Gregor shared some thoughts on which teams have the rosters to go on deep runs.

Tyler then popped in for a fresh edition of Buy or Sell delivered by DoorDash.
