In this episode of The Plant Trainers Podcast, we talk with Dr. Jennifer Simmons about breast cancer basics. This episode is really a treat. Dr. Jenn is so knowledgeable and no nonsense. She recounts her story of overcoming Graves Disease, overcoming COVID and giving up her successful surgical career to help others with their health in a more natural and holistic manner. You will hear all about where soy, breast exams, mammograms and meditation have their parts. Both males and females will find this episode fascinating. Dr. Jennifer Simmons is a Functional Medicine Doctor and founder of Real Health MD. She attended Jefferson Medical College, completed a general surgery residency at Albany Medical Center, and was the inaugural fellow in breast disease in Philadelphia. Dr. Simmons was one of the leaders in breast surgery and cancer care in Philadelphia for 16 years. Passionate about the idea of pursuing health rather than treating illness, she has immersed herself in the study of functional medicine and aims to provide a roadmap to those who want to know real health. Dr. Simmons frequently speaks on her health journey, and on what she has learned in the course of healing herself. She continues to serve her breast cancer population by helping them and others to achieve hormonal health. When Dr. Simmons is not working, you can find her spending time with her family, at the dog park with her three dogs, perusing her local farmers market, on the tennis court, or in the kitchen with friends cooking up a storm.
