Midday Prayer for Saturday in the Octave of Easter, using the Current Psalmody
God, come to my assistance.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
HYMN
Chorus:
The Lord is my shepherd;
Chorus:
Beside restful waters He leads me;
Chorus:
You spread the table before me
Chorus:
PSALMODY
Ant. He was handed over to death for our sins; he was raised to life to justify us, alleluia.
Psalm 119:33-40
Teach me the demands of your precepts
Guide me in the path of your commands;
Keep my eyes from what is false:
Keep me from the scorn I dread,
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
Psalm 96
I
O sing a new song to the Lord,
Proclaim his help day by day,
The Lord is great and worthy of praise,
It was the Lord who made the heavens,
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
II
Give the Lord, you families of peoples,
Bring an offering and enter his courts,
Proclaim to the nations: βGod is king.β
Let the heavens rejoice and earth be glad,
at the presence of the Lord for he comes,
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
Ant. He was handed over to death for our sins; he was raised to life to justify us, alleluia.
READING 1 Corinthians 15:20-22
Christ is now raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. Death came through a man; hence the resurrection of the dead comes through a man also. Just as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will come to life again.
Sacred Silence (indicated by a bell)
This is the day the Lord has made, alleluia.
CONCLUDING PRAYER
O God,
ACCLAMATION (only added when praying in community)
Let us praise the Lord.
