Today we’re looking at a few moments where expectations, barriers, and ideas shape what comes next.


First, the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, where the gap between expectation and reality became impossible to ignore.


Then, Jackie Robinson’s debut in 1947, breaking a barrier that had been treated as permanent.


And finally, the opening of the first McDonald’s franchise in 1955, where a simple idea scaled into something much larger.
