Scripture: John 21:1-17

I wonder why Peter and the other disciples had gone back to their lives as fishermen, after everything that had happened?

I wonder why Peter jumped right into the water to swim to Jesus, as soon as he recognized him?

I wonder what it was like to be served breakfast on the beach by the risen Lord?

I wonder how Peter felt, when Jesus took him aside after breakfast. I wonder if this was the first time Peter spoke with Jesus alone, after he was raised?

I wonder why Jesus asked Peter three times, “Do you love me?”

I wonder how Jesus’ voice sounded, when he told Peter, “Feed my sheep”? Was it a command? An invitation? A gift?

I wonder, can I trust that Jesus knows me like he knows Peter, and loves and welcomes all of me, too?

Our loving God, thank you for seeing us and knowing us inside and out. Thank you that when you see everything that is beautiful and good in us, and everything that is broken and scared, you always come towards us in love, just like Jesus came to Peter and the disciples on the beach.
