In today's reading, Ish-bosheth is killed for the sake of David, but the attackers are executed. The tribes of Israel pledge to David and he takes Jerusalem from the Jebusites. Uzzah, the son of Abinadab, dies for touching the ark. This terrifies David, until he sees Obed-edom is blessed by the ark.
