First, the creation of friction matches in 1827, turning fire from something you had to build… into something you could carry in your pocket.


Then, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 1906, a moment when the Earth released far more energy than anyone could control, burying towns under ash.


And finally, the launch of the Mars Odyssey spacecraft in 2001, a mission designed to study what might be hidden just beneath the surface of another planet.


Plus, a quick look at Billie Holiday, whose ability to shape emotion through timing and tone changed how people experience music.


Different scales. Different forces. But each one shows how pressure builds—and what happens when it’s finally released.
