“A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies. A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding. Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.” — Proverbs 14:5–7
“Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, ‘I believe; help my unbelief!’” — Mark 9:24
“And he said to them, ‘This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.’” — Mark 9:29

Have you ever felt unsure about what to believe? Or maybe you've heard so many voices—online, at school, even from friends—that you’re not sure who’s telling the truth anymore. In Proverbs 14:5–7, we’re reminded to listen to people who are faithful and wise—not those who just talk big or stir up confusion. The Bible warns us to walk away from foolish influences because they won't lead us anywhere good.
In Mark 9, a father brings his suffering son to Jesus. This dad is desperate, and he says something really honest: “I believe; help my unbelief!” Isn’t that how faith feels sometimes? We want to believe God can move in our lives, but we struggle with doubts. And that’s okay—Jesus doesn’t reject the father for his shaky faith. Instead, He meets him right where he is and heals his son.
Jesus also tells His disciples that real power—spiritual strength—comes through prayer (Mark 9:29). That means staying close to God is the key to understanding truth, fighting doubt, and living boldly. When we’re surrounded by confusing voices, we can trust Jesus to be our source of clarity, peace, and truth.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for being patient with me when I doubt. Help me recognize and walk away from foolish influences. I want to be someone who speaks truth, listens well, and grows in real understanding. Teach me to pray, to trust, and to lean on You when I don’t have all the answers. I believe—help my unbelief. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
