After updating 50 packages on my Arch Linux system (including an LTS kernel bump from 6.12.21 to 6.12.22), my 10Gb network card stopped working. I confirmed it wasn’t a network issue by testing with my laptop. Switching to the onboard gigabit NIC worked, pointing to a kernel or driver problem. Upgrading from "longterm" to "stable" kernel (6.14.2) fixed the issue. Moral of the story: even LTS kernels can break things—be cautious with updates, especially on rolling distros.
