Is it a true-crime parody? No, not exactly. It takes the crime very seriously. But it is funny, and it is also a show with a mystery: what happened to actress and heiress Julie Capsom, when she disappeared on Christmas a decade ago?
The product of three writers—sketch comic Sara Ghaleb, entertainment critic Todd VanDerWerff, and Hollywood historian Christopher Dole—Arden is an engaging mystery hosted by two women—an ex-cop and a reporter—who fight over how they want to frame the show and contextualize Capsom's disappearance.
