Embakasi is the most populated area in Nairobi, according to the population and housing census carried out by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) .

The area hosts a population of 988,808, with male population standing at 492,476 and females 496,270. Most of the population here reside in the informal settlement of Mukuru kwa Njenga, Kware, Pipeline, Tassia and the formal Imara Daima. A population of almost a million people live in fear of land cartels, you never the hour or the minute. Many have been evicted without any notices without knowing where to go next.
